At Daughters of India, we are deeply grateful to collaborate with Projecthrive on a capsule collection celebrating the ancient art of hand block printing. This initiative has provided employment to four skilled artisans, creating 212 days of meaningful work and supporting families who would otherwise have limited opportunities for income and education.
Hand block printing is one of the oldest forms of textile design, where wooden blocks are carefully carved and pressed into fabric, one motif at a time. Each meter requires hours of dedication, preserving delicate details and centuries of cultural artistry. Since 2009, Sonica Sarna’s Projecthrive has been training and empowering artisan communities, connecting them with purpose-driven brands like ours to ensure their craft continues to flourish.
Choosing organic cotton for this collection has also allowed us to reduce 583.2 kg of CO₂ emissions and eliminate 584.04 kg of synthetic fertilizers that would otherwise have entered the production cycle.
