Sewing the Seeds Charity Update

Each month, our partnership with Sewing the Seeds continues to create long-term, meaningful impact for women in Pondicherry, India. With the help of our ongoing $5,000 monthly donation, this work is steady and considered, built through consistency rather than urgency.
With the help of our monthly donation, Sewing the Seeds continues to provide full-time, safe employment for 10 women at their Pondicherry centre. In 2025 alone, this has supported 18,176 hours of paid employment, offering financial stability and a reliable income that supports not just the women themselves, but their families and future generations.
Alongside employment, education remains central to this partnership. Over the past year, the women have received 132 hours of textiles training, developing advanced skills in embroidery, pattern making, cutting and garment construction. These skills strengthen long-term earning potential and open pathways beyond informal or unsafe work.
Sustainability is woven throughout every stage of this work. In the past year, 728 donated sarees and materials have been upcycled into new textile products, honouring traditional craft while reducing waste and extending the life of existing materials.

Impact here extends well beyond production. Through weekly women’s circles and holistic support, Sewing the Seeds continues to prioritise confidence, wellbeing and personal agency. This year, nine women have accessed safer sanitation alternatives, and five children’s school fees have been supported, reinforcing the ripple effect of secure employment and community care.
