As we reflect on the year that was, we find ourselves filled with deep gratitude for every moment, every connection, and every step we’ve taken together. 2024 was a year of growth, beauty, and learning, and none of it would have been possible without the unwavering support and love from our incredible community.
In this journal, we’re pausing to honour the journey, to celebrate the moments that have shaped us, and to express our heartfelt thanks for being a part of it all. We’re so grateful to share this space with you and can’t wait to step into another year, hand in hand.
Pink Sorbet and Vanilla were two new hand-loomed colourways that became part of the Daughters of India family last year. We were delighted by the incredible response to Pink Sorbet, a new staple shade and community favourite.
In 2024, we cherished the opportunity to reconnect with our makers in India. Spending time with the artisans who bring our designs to life is always a deeply meaningful experience, strengthening our connection and admiration for their incredible craftsmanship and the heartfelt dedication they pour into every piece.
We are endlessly thankful to have the privilege of shining a light on these timeless art forms, supporting Indian women in their workplaces, and contributing to their local communities. From the beginning, we’ve shared a vision with our makers of empowering all women to feel celebrated and deeply respected. Together, with care and intention, we are bringing this vision to life.
Last year saw some exciting updates from our charity partner, Sewing the Seeds. The new wellness hub in Pondicherry is creating exciting opportunities for marginalised women. The women have been thriving through their training in sewing and textiles, now learning to design and create their own Block Print Dresses.
As proud Charity Partners of Sewing the Seeds, every Daughters of India purchase helps provide Indian women from marginalised communities with access to education, skill training, and fair wages in a safe, nurturing environment.
Sewing the Seeds is a women’s empowerment initiative that leverages education and creativity through the slow fashion movement to help break the cycle of poverty for Indian women.
In November last year, we were thrilled to welcome Ria. Four stunning new designs, a blouse, mini dress, and, for the very first time in Daughters of India history, pants and a sarong in five brand new colourways.
We are so grateful for our community’s overwhelming love and support of these new additions. It's been an amazing journey since launching our first Kyra design which many of you will remember. We are honoured to be able to continue to grow together and share new creations, celebrating artisan made works of art.
And finally, our new summer staple, the Sundress, sold out in no time thanks to your overwhelming love and support! We can’t wait to welcome her back in the new year, ready to add a touch of summer to your wardrobe all year round.
